Greetings from Porterville College and the Pirates Baseball Program.  As you look beyond the end of the school year, you will be evaluating what kind of college academic experience will benefit you.  As a student/athlete you will also want to evaluate what baseball program is right for you.  If you are looking for an academically outstanding college with a great baseball program, then I’m pleased to introduce you to one of the most exceptional academic and athletic experiences you will find on the west coast.

Porterville College Baseball coaching staff is comprised of former major leaguers and coaches with significant baseball experience.  Head coach Del Marine played professional baseball for 7 years (Detroit Tigers organization), as well as coached at the high school and college level.

Hitting coach Steve Cox Played 14 years of professional baseball with the Oakland Athletics and Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Pitching coach Jason Mitchell played Division I Baseball for the University of San Francisco where he won Pitcher of the Year. Infield coach A.J. Watts played two years at Porterville College and transferred to Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa where he graduated with a BA in Kinesiology/Education. Coach Watts was the head coach at Granite Hills High School the past four years.

The “Pirates” compete within the Central Valley Conference (CVC), which is widely regarded as the most competitive conference in the state.  The CVC includes Fresno City College, College of the Sequoias, Reedley College, Taft College, Merced College, and West Hills College.
